Jay Levine elevated to Vice Chair of National Council of Farmer Cooperatives Antitrust Subcommittee

Weil Brown is proud to announce that partner Jay Levine, chair of the firm’s Antitrust practice group, has been named Vice Chair of the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives (NCFC) Antitrust Subcommittee, succeeding firm counsel Don Barnes, who recently stepped down as Chair.

As part of a group of NCFC’s senior antitrust counselors, Jay will advise the Council and its farmer cooperative members on competition issues, including those involving the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. At times, this may involve filing amicus briefs in court proceedings where important cooperative issues are at stake.

Since 1929, the NCFC has been the voice of America’s farmer cooperatives. Their members are regional and national farmer cooperatives, which in turn consist of nearly 1,600 local farmer cooperatives across the country. Farmer cooperatives handle, process and market almost every type of agricultural commodity; furnish farm supplies; and provide credit and related financial services, including export financing.
